I have a chronic illness, and during a recent flare-up I was too weak to take out my braids myself. I googled takedown services in Toronto and was relieved to find Braiding by Beauty Rose. I booked a takedown, wash, and cornrows appointment for 12:00 PM. I called ahead to let them know I was running late and asked if arriving at 12:10 PM was okay. I was reassured it was “no problem.” When I arrived, no one was at the front desk, I checked in with the stylist, showed my email confirmation, and was told to sit down. I asked how long the wait would be and she responded, “just sit a moment,” then giggled, and after that, no one spoke to me again. After waiting 30 minutes with zero acknowledgment or updates, I realized I wasn’t valued and decided to leave. Such a disappointment. I can’t speak to the quality of their actual braiding or hair care, but the customer service and experience was terrible. I’m genuinely confused why they offer appointment times, and why tell me my being ten minutes late is fine, if you have no intention of honouring the booking?
My wife got her Falani Boho hair done here, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! The customer service was excellent — the staff were kind and welcoming. A special shoutout to Natoya, who did an amazing job with exceptional skill and care. Her professionalism and attention to detail made the whole experience outstanding. We truly appreciate her expertise and highly recommend her to anyone looking for top-quality service!
After making an appointment days in advance for 9am, was very disappointed to travel so far to come to a locked salon. When they finally did open, the person I was booked for, didn't bother to show up. After waiting amost an hour, ended up calling the number and speaking to the owner, who that told me the person she booked me with would not arrive until around 11am or 12pm. Ridiculously unprofessional, zero accountability... if I didn't reach out to ask what was going on, she would have said nothing ... After looking around online found Kaytee uptown that did an amazing job. Needless to say, I'm glad to find more professional service elsewhere and waaay more affordable.
I traveled about an hour to get to this salon because of the reviews and ratings. I got my locks re-tightened with a bit of maintenance which I could give a 4-star for even though the price was outrageous compared to what I saw on the site. Anyway, Shanika did a good job on my locs and I won't complain. The salon was not busy that day so that appointment went quickly. However, two days after that, I booked an appointment on the site with Shanika to put weave on my daughter's hair, and (that's what this rating is for). IT WAS A DISASTER! First of all, when I got there on time, the hairstylist I booked with was on another person's hair doing box braids which was a very big disappointment to me. After seeing the expression on my face, she quickly went on to say that Rose didn't tell her that I was coming even though I told her two days prior that I will be coming with my daughter, and I also booked and confirm online. UNPROFESSIONAL!! The worst part is that she handed my daughter over to this other lady (without any instructions what to do) who obviously did not have a clue what she was doing. She started messing up from the cornrow. She was yelled at and ridiculed by her peer in front of customers.. OMG! She had to loose out the cornrow again and all this time Shanika knew I was on limited time, my day was packed with errands because my older daughter was getting married the next day. She knew all of this because I told her prior. The wait was a disaster, I had to keep topping up my parking pass for my car only to be very disappointed with the style that was unprofessionally done on my daughter's head. Angry and disgusted were the only words to describe how I felt walking out of that place. I was not about to argue like the lady that was there arguing about how they were trying to rip her off because Rose gave her a set price but they were trying to charge her more. I hurriedly pay for my daughters hair and walked out so fast knowing that that salon would never see me nor anyone I know there again. Totally messed up my day and my appointment. Very dissatisfied. A 1 and half hour appointment lasted 3 and half hours!! Rose, you cannot be running a business with charges hitting the roof and the customers are leaving dissatisfied and upset. People deserve to get their money's worth. You are hardly there and you dont answer calls. Thats messed up. The workers don't even know what you are doing. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! ????
I found Hair Braiding Studio by Beauty Rose online and decided to give it a try. I’ve been there three times now and haven’t been disappointed. They’re reliable, very accommodating to my needs, and the staff are friendly as well. I usually go for sew-ins and cornrows, which so far have been lovely. I’ve also seen them do braids for other clients, and the results look really beautiful. I recommend ?
Terrible experience here. It was our first time checking them out. They DO NOT care for appointments, nor do they honour the time. They made us wait an hour past our appointment time. They overwhelmed themselves by taking walk-ins in without coordinating with their appointments schedule. They also don't give you the stylist you book with... The place is super cramped, smaller than my rental apartment living room, especially when all chairs are occupied. Only 3 seats in their waiting area, plus a broken office chair with a missing foot that I almost fell from because I didn't realize it was broken... Should not even have that out for clients to sit on. Let me get started on the actual braid up. My son got basic cornrows. It hasn't even been 1 week and they're already fuzzy and loosening up and he wears a silk bonnet to bed. They weren't even done very straight back either. Super disappointed. Never going back, sorry ?
I recently visited this braiding shop and had mixed experiences. The braids themselves turned out nicely, but the braider forgot a crucial step - sealing the ends in hot water. Unfortunately, the staff seemed disorganized, and the girls working at the store didn't know the prices of their services. It appeared that prices were arbitrarily determined, which is concerning. Furthermore, I was taken aback by the poor hygiene practices of some staff members. It's unprofessional and inconsiderate to come to work with body odor that's noticeable to others. Lastly, I felt disrespected when the staff spoke about customers in their native language, even laughing at me at one point. As a customer, it's unsettling to feel like you're being mocked or discussed negatively. Overall, while the braids were well-done, the shop's service and professionalism fell short.
