The Benjamin Moore store in Leaside is my go-to for paint and supplies. The staff are super knowledgeable and always help me find the perfect colors and finishes. They take time to answer questions. Great selection, great service highly recommend if you’re looking for quality paint in midtown Toronto!

I arrived around 3:50 knowing the store closed at 4pm. I actually rushed there just to pickup a couple of small stain containers so I could test them. There were 2 people working and I approached the guy, who I would later learn was named Brian to ask for his help. I told him the type of wood I was working with and asked if he has any recommendations. Before offering help, he said, “we close in 8 minutes.” Which I recognized. He the showed me where the stains were and said to just pick one. He walked away without helping. I had to pull out my phone and google “what stains work best on 100 year old mahogany. I decided to pickup 2 options after reading the Google results. While I was in the middle of trying to find one of the stains, he shut off the lights (before 4pm), so I could no longer see. I asked him about the stain and if he could help me find it. Instead of coming over, he just said they likely don’t have it but he could get it from another location. I explained I was having difficulty finding it because he turned the lights off. He waited a brief period of time before just rudely announcing, “I’m closed.” At that point I walked back near the counter where he was standing to ask his name and explain to him that if he’d helped me as I’d asked when I first arrived at 3:50, I would’ve been out of there long before closing. Brian responded that he “is not a designer.” I told him I didn’t come to the store to ask design questions, but I did come to a paint and stain store to ask for help with stains. I think that’s a fairly simple ask. I walked out of the store and explained to a pair of women who were walking in the store that they were closed and to not expect an ounce of help from Brian. I was hoping to shield them from the same rude treatment I’d received. Funny enough, they came to talk to me just outside the store to inquire what happened and why he was so rude. I understand that 3:50pm is 10 minutes prior to closing, and was prepared to quickly get what I need and leave. But 3:50pm still means you are open for business. Someone really needs to explain this concept to Brian. I’ve been coming to Bayview Paints for my paint and stain needs since I moved here 6 years ago. About 2 months back we purchased a new home that is very close to your store. In the last week alone, I’ve purchased 4 paint samples and was about to purchase another $40 of small stain containers to test out. I have an entire house to paint, but unfortunately this experience with Brian means I will most gladly get in my car and drive to another store that actually wants business, treats their customers with not just basic respect, but also offers the expertise consumers look for when we visit a specialty paint and stain store. Everyone has bad days, and maybe this was just an exceptionally bad day for Brian. But unfortunately, it has cost you a loyal customer and the paint purchases for an entire house.

Without fail, every time I go into the store on Bayview, the people working there, specifically two older men are always rude and dismissive of me. I don’t know how anyone could run a store or business this way, it is bewildering to me. I feel so uncomfortable in there, even asking a question. I have never once been rude to anyone I am extremely kind and I am always met with such unkindness. Sad that the staff are like this here because it is convenient as I live close by. I will continue to go to the Benjamin Moore that is on Queen East as everyone is extremely helpful and nice there. Don’t even bother shopping here if you have to ask a question.

I had the worse experience in this store today. I was the only one in there asking in the most mindful way for assistance on certain shades of a colour. There were 2+ younger employees that were avoidant from the beginning and the older man in the ball cap with grey hair and a beard who was impatient, terse and dismissive. I have lived in the neighbourhood for 20+ years and I have never encountered such rude and passive aggressive behaviour as I did from the older man. I will never set foot in that store again. The lack of service and attitude were absolutely disgusting and uncalled for. I needed assistance and patience, and I was made to feel so horrible I could not wait to leave the premises. There was something terribly wrong with all those employees present at that time. And judging by the previous ratings, this is a recurring theme.

Willie's the man! Very knowledgeable and best colour matching in the city. The whole crew really are the best. Should be the only paint store you ever go to.

This review is not about the store itself, but more about someone driving the work van with the license plate AT 84216. This guy is a danger on the road. Each morning I see him tailgating cars on hwy 7, or racing around them without signaling. I understand being in a rush but it's every morning I see him. He slams on his brakes at the last second at every stop ending up maybe two feet from the car in front of him. It's a matter of time before causes an accident.

What a pain to get a refund for product that is unused, closed and good for resale. Did not like the attitude. Customer service is key, especially if you offer refunds and want repeat customers. #2clowns.

Sorry AB B, but your credit card that you had payed with before didn't scan today so we had to maually scroll back to find your purchace. And sorry that took a few moments. And also sorry that we asked to see your card again to make sure it was the same card number. Not really sure how that could have gone any better, but you did get your money back in the end. take care #1clown
