I order from this restaurant on Uber eats all the time. I am obsessed with their beef pad Thai, and the hot and sour soup is the most delicious soup I have ever tasted. I wish I were a little less expensive. I am keen to try their pho next.
Love this spot. We have ordered different pho, spring rolls, red and green curry, pineapple chicken, spicy basil chicken, pad Thai… I must be forgetting some. Tonight we ordered delivery and when on the phone she said they have a special. Chicken balls. BEST CHICKEN BALLS EVER. Just say yes to the specials. Also say yes to everything else. The food here makes me happy. If you’re a vegetarian- the lemongrass broth is heaven.
I seldom give bad reviews but it was such a horrible experience that I had to post it. This is what I got when I requested beef stir fried with broccoli. Service was terrible, I asked the lady how long does it usually take for takeaway and she (rudely, not normally) responded it depends on what I get. After I ordered this, I received it in less than 10 minutes. I think that speaks volumes, it looked and tasted like she’d just barely warmed up concoctions of items stored away. I was scared to eat it properly. It was an expensive(for the item and location) experience and the first thing I’ve purchased only to dump it in Canada.
This restaurant does not deserve all the 1 star reviews. It is easily the best authentic pho restaurant located in East York and I'll tell you why! We got the rare beef and beef ball pho and the pork chop with rice, and oh my... they were so delicious. I like to judge the quality of pho based on their broth, and I can tell they boiled the broth for a long time that's why it tasted so hearty, nutritious, and full of flavour. The atmosphere is definitely super chill and homey. Food came super fast and portions were very generous as well. This family-run restaurant definitely raised the bar for authentic pho and I can tell they put in a lot of love into their food! 5/5 stars!
The food at Pho Challenges Restaurant is quite good, and I enjoyed the flavors. However, I would hesitate to recommend this place due to the unprofessional behavior of the lady at the counter. Customer service plays a big role in the overall dining experience, and unfortunately, her attitude left a negative impression. I hope they work on improving this aspect of their service.
Had a green curry. Big nice portion, fresh and good quality vegetables. The curry is a bit too watery to my liking (but I usually order Thai curry, maybe it's a difference in recipe). It also didn't help their sub-optimal take-out packaging: I had curry and soup take-out many times from other places, this is the first time when the plastic bag in which I carried the food had a lot of curry spilled.
I just ordered a Raw beef noodle soup and after an hour waiting received a vermicelli bowl with chicken which I had to threw it away as I’m allergic to chicken! Bad service, not ordering from here again
