The least hospitable, most unprofessional folks I have ever come across in Toronto. I was taking my mother and elderly grandfather out for dinner and we made a reservation for 7:30. We arrived, and all of the tables were full. They told us that they could seat us outside on the patio with the heater on in minus 10 degrees weather... I worked in the industry for 10 years, and I've never come across anything like this before. Unapologetic and shameless, folks that seem to know nothing about hospitality. Really unfortunate and frankly unacceptable, would not recommend.
Family visit. The initial reception was very frosty. We were seated at a drafty table by a very unfriendly staff member. But after our request to seat us at another table was granted, albeit long deliberation between our server and her manager, things have improved dramatically. The food was the highlight of our experience. Absolute local Italian gem in our neighborhood. We tried arancini, rigatoni funghi, pizza and talgatelli agnello and all were absolutely delicious, hats down to the chef. All these were polished by scramtious tiramisu. And our server who we ended up chatting a little and learnt she is from Brasil was very nice and friendly. One other thing I should mention, unlike some comments made on the prices and that yorkville or downtown may offer better value for money, well clearly they don't know what they are talking about. Rent in those locations is prohibitively expensive so they ought to be more expensive by definition and food quality can be hit and miss. We definitely will be back to try so many other delectables la casetta have in their menu and even may become a pizza takeout place for us. One advise for the place is may be hire a hostess to improve the very first customer interaction.
I had the special - boar on gnocchi, and my partner had rigatoni with chicken, kale, and truffle in a white sauce. Both were excellent! Our server was friendly, efficient and had a great sense of humour.
oh my goddddd!!! i usually do not write reviews but the mushroom risotto was the absolute best my mom and i have ever had, my mom loves loves loves mushroom risotto and this just took the cake for us! not too heavy, perfect truffle flavour and just overall amazing!
Such a nice comforting meal. The restaurant is inviting but does get busy so you might want to book a reservation. We loved the branzino. My kids were big fans of the risotto and pastas. Their tiramisu was moist and not too sweet. A great way to end the meal. We really enjoyed our meals and will be back again.
Totally not worth the price to eat out at this place it is way overpriced and such gouging like I've never seen before. The food was okay but nothing special. I will never come back to this place way overpriced. If you want Italian is better to go downtown in Yorkville. Same price better quality for Italian in the downtown core. This was a complete joke, felt like I got ripped off.
One of the scariest and worst dining experiences of my life. Bit into a pizza and cut the inside of my mouth on a shard of plastic. When I pointed it out to the server, absolutely no one cared and I saw her show the pizza maker and they shrugged. My mother, daughter and I then stopped eating and asked for the bill, they comped the one pizza but nothing else and didn’t give us the paneer or managers details. Truly truly shocking.
