I’m truly disappointed with Mama Bakery and Karahi. After driving an hour and a half to get there, they handed me an uncooked potato pulani. When I called, I was told to drive back and return it — basically asking me to spend another $50 on gas because of their mistake. That’s simply unreasonable. A responsible business fixes its errors and values its customers. Sadly, this experience showed the opposite. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend them to anyone.
I’m very disappointed with Mama Bakery and Karahi. It’s clear they don’t care about their customers anymore. I drove almost 1 hour and 30 minutes from my home to their shop, only to be sold uncooked potato pulani. When I called to complain, the lady told me to drive back again and return it — meaning I would have to spend another $50 on gas just to fix their mistake. That’s unacceptable. A business should take responsibility for their errors and show care for their customers, not make the customer pay twice for bad service. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely don’t recommend them to anyone.
Today, I bought some bread from this bakery and was very disappointed. The cashier provided poor customer service—unfriendly and unhelpful. On top of that, the bread was undercooked and unusually small. They charge $2 per loaf, but based on the quality and size, it’s not even worth $1.
The bakery is fine and the bread is good, but the front of house cashier it's both disrespectful and unhygienic. We ordered two pieces of bread. She proceeds to grab the bread with her bare hands after handling cash, after we bring up the fact that it's unhygienic and that she should wear gloves, she becomes incredibly disrespectful giving us the side eye and even dropping the bag of bread before I could grab it. I won't be coming back
Great Sangak bread, but they don't have it every day, so call and ask. Their barbarry and lavash is great and they have whole wheat options too. Saves me from going all the way to North York for Persian bread.
Ordered some naan and lamb karahi recently. Naan is clearly their specialty - it was fresh and tasty and many customers had lined up to purchase it which is an attestation to its quality and value. While flavorful, the portion of the lamb karahi was shockingly small for the price especially for the area and a quarter of what I thought was meat was just fat. There's better value for Afghan food in the plaza alone. In terms of hygiene, it's concerning that the person handling cash is also packaging the naan and while I was there I didn't see any use of gloves, handwashing or sanitizer.
The bread here is so fresh and delicious!! Such a hidden gem! And the employee I met was super sweet , I asked if the bread was $2 casually however it was more but because of my error in words he still honored it and wouldn't take more than $2. That's real good customer service !!
